Message from the Associate Dean, Research and Higher Degrees

Welcome to the Research and Higher Degrees office for the Faculty of Education and Arts. The Research and Higher Degrees Office and its staff supports an extensive research program for higher degree students and research staff in the Faculty. Many of our academics are research-active and contribute to a wide variety of refereed publications. The Faculty has a number of research groups addressing critical areas of research strength and these welcome Honours and Postgraduate student members.

The Faculty offers Honours and postgraduate programmes across most of our discipline areas. We welcome students as members of our research communities and support newcomers through our active research training scheme and through mentoring and networking programmes. The Schools and the Academy have dedicated and approachable staff members to coordinate their Honours streams; Masters and Professional Masters by Coursework qualifications; and their Higher Degrees by Research. Additionally, the Faculty Office welcomes contact with students. Graduate and postgraduate study offers significant benefit to the student, Faculty, the University and the wider community and helps generate new knowledge and creativity.

Our Faculty includes students from all over the world and celebrates the diversity of perspectives and creativity that this inclusivity brings. Our research addresses questions, problems and challenges grounded in everyday life, and actively engages with service to the community, the professions, and enterprise. Supported by talented and helpful library staff and an exceptional commitment to technology and production facilities, research students can be confident that they will receive first class support, career-building research training and excellent research opportunities.
